Trademark's Fall Checklist For Your Home

Trademark Home Exteriors wants to make sure you and your home are ready for fall. It is important to take care of the things that may seem little but can be detrimental to your home if not properly managed. Most of the tasks we laid out below can be handled by the average person’s ability even with no money. These tasks can make a big difference for you and your home so you may decide to hire a professional to help you on some.

Keep you and your family safe! Test all of your smoke and CO monitors and make sure your home doesn’t have unnecessary fire hazards (old newspapers).

Inspect Exterior Walls - Walk around and observe your home, look for signs of damage especially with siding.

Chimney Cleaning - We strongly recommend hiring a credible professional to take care of this messy job!

Clean gutters and downspouts – Unblock all drainage by moving leaves and debris. Installing gutter guards will make this much easier.

Probe the wood trim around windows, doors, railings and decks. This can be done with a screwdriver or something similar. Fill the holes with caulk or completely replace the wood.

Get on your roof! Inspect your roof for damaged or curled shingles and leaky vents.

Repair, repair, repair! Damaged sidewalks, driveways, and steps can quickly become more hazardous as the fallen leaves begin to accumulate.

Clean or replace dirty furnace filters.

Get the wood fires going! Wood stoves are making a comeback. Be sure to inspect yours before firing it up.
